About Faith Beyond The Table

About The Blog

Faith Beyond The Table is a place to share the truth of Jesus Christ with the world. It was born out of a burden that God placed on my heart, to go beyond my table to reach people who may never walk into a church building but might be searching for Him online.

When teaching about Nehemiah in the Bible, my pastor explained that burdens aren’t always bad. Sometimes we’re given a burden for someone or something so that we’ll act, just like Nehemiah was given a burden to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. His explanation helped me understand how I was feeling.

My Sunday School teacher also taught on Nehemiah and the rebuilding of the wall. It’s funny how God will get His message across, even if it means we get the same message from several places.

Nehemiah inspired others to build a section of the wall near their home. Not everyone had the same skills, abilities, or resources, but they used what they had to do their part. This blog is my section of the wall, and I will use the talents, skills, and resources God has provided to build it.

About The Author

woman with floral shirt smiling at the cameraHi, I’m Crystal. I’m just your normal, everyday person. I’m not a preacher, teacher, or scholar, and I’m definitely not a perfect Christian. (FYI, there’s no such thing.) I actually spent a lot of my life running from God, but He didn’t give up on me.

As I mentioned in Faith Beyond the Table’s origin story, “I answered His call during a difficult moment and turned back to Him by pouring out my heart to Him in prayer. I didn’t want to talk to people about God, go to church, hear sermons, or anything else, but I decided to try my best to do what God wanted me to do.”
